Last-Minute Holiday Decorating Tips

There’s a reason why we offer to stage your home for free — I love decorating! I also love Christmas! I am that person who decorates for Christmas before Thanksgiving.

Whether you’re like me or not, I hope you’ll enjoy these simple holiday decorating tips:

  1. “Frost” Your Christmas Tree — Make your Christmas tree stand out with this tip. Add in two strands of twinkle lights to a pre-lit, faux tree. Simply wrap a strand of sparkly lights around a grapevine and then just wrap around the tree and existing lights. This simple trick doubles the lights on your tree (and alternates between sparkling and still) without having to spend time wrapping each limb. My Garden Ridge tree sparkles!
  2. Floating Ornaments — Do you have leftover ornaments or a room that needs a Christmas makeover? Hang ornaments from chandeliers or the ceiling with clear string or fishing line to create an ethereal, classic effect in any room.
  3. DIY Winter Votives — Check out this do-it-yourself technique for creating your own, unique votive candle holders! You’ll only need a glass jar or vase, Mod Podge, glitter or Epsom salts, and poof, you’re done!
