Winterizing Your Home

Baby, it’s cold outside…or at least it should be soon. (You never know with Texas weather!) Beat Old Man Winter by winterizing your home for the season.

Here are three quick and inexpensive tips to get you through the winter:

  1. Change your furnace filters — Dirt build up in your filter restricts airflow, means more work for your system, and more energy usage. Change your filters regularly — every two months is the standard recommendation. Although in the winter months, or if you have allergies or pets, you should consider changing your filters monthly.
  2. Insulate your home — Grab a caulk gun and fill in the gaps in your home’s exterior around windows.
